Shameless Self-Promotion: Let's Help Each Other Win an iPad!

One of the first things I did, ages ago when I first started writing from home, was to sign up at Associated Content. This is a site that allows you to publish your writing. You can get paid up front for content (it has to pass muster, and you have to accept the small amounts offered), and you get paid for the number of pageviews your content has. If they like you, you have the chance to write specialized articles on specific topics, and get paid a little bit more.

I don't do much on AC lately, mainly because I have other projects I'm working on and, to be frank, AC isn't exactly the top stuff. But it's not bad if I have an extra 15 minutes and want to make a quick few bucks. And it really is a good place to go if you are just trying to gain some traction, and are in need of extra cash. My regular, desperation-fueled postings on AC five years ago are what brought me to the attention of a blogging leader, and the entire reason I'm a professional blogger today. Plus, I make about $40 a month for pageviews on posts I wrote up to five years ago. So I really can't knock it too much. AC has been good to me.

How We Can Possibly Win iPads Together

Associated Content is having a fun contest in which it is possible to get an entry to win an iPad. I get an entry when you sign up for AC using this link and publish at least one article by May 31. You can earn entries for winning a different iPad by being a new contributor and publishing stories by the end of the month.

They pay often, and through PayPal, and I can tell you that there were many months when I was starting out in 2005 that AC's timely payment allowed us to buy groceries and pay the power bill. So if you are looking for a way to earn a little extra money, maybe win an iPad, and maybe help me win an iPad, head on over and sign up for AC :)
